When she was 12, Becky decided to live “off the grid” in her bedroom. That meant shutting the heating vent, using only blankets for warmth and candles for light. Eschewing the Sears white and gold bedroom set that was in every other 12-year-old girl’s room, a recycled electrical wire spindle became the focal point and night stand, and an old tatami mat salvaged from the attic covered the floor. Her interior design career well underway, she moved on to the bookcases in the closet, turning them into an apartment tower for Barbies, complete with custom crafted cardboard furniture, and at one time, a working fire pit. 30 years later, she is still re-arranging furniture - and entire homes - working closely with clients to create spaces that are personal and comfortable.

Michael brings a sense of order (he IS German after all) to the world through architecture. His initial foray into the field was also a bedroom design (orange and black – ouch!). A detour into dentistry and then the German Army allowed him time to really decide what he wanted to be when he grew up, which he did by studying Architecture at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo (where he met Becky – over 30 years later they're still a team). He’s been designing ever since – furniture, graphics, homes – all with careful attention to detail – whether it is how a hinge is attached or making sure a space meets all the current building codes.
